White lilies communicate purity and virtue while Peruvian lilies mean devotion and white stargazer lilies are used to convey heartfelt sympathy, making them the flower of choice for memorial services. 

A note regarding cats and lilies : Lilies contain a substance that can be harmful to cats, even when ingested in small doses. If your bouquet will be around cats, please ensure that you choose an arrangement without lilies.
